Class EYFS

Miss Allen

I have been teaching for thirteen years and have experience of working across key stage one and leading working in middle management as Early Years Lead at my previous school.  I have just moved from Year One to Reception Class at Highfields. I will be your class teacher.

I have twins called Jack and Jessica. They’re nine years old and have just ventured into Year 5. I also have a three year old dog called Teddy.

Mrs Fergus

I’ve worked at Highfields for a very long time and have spent the last ten years in reception class.

My loves in life are my family. I’m married with two grown up daughters and two gorgeous grandchildren who I spend lots of time with.

My interests include interior design, baking cakes and art and craft. I’m looking forward to an exciting  year ahead!

Curriculum

For the first few weeks, our main priority is to settle your child. It is important that your child feels safe and happy in their environment to ensure that they reach their full potential during the year to come. This year, the Early Years Framework has been revised. We will continually be providing opportunities for your child to develop during the year to help them to meet the Early Learning Goals. These are listed below/ overleaf and these are what we aim to enable your children to achieve by the end of their year with us. The curriculum is splits into different areas but many of these compliment one another.

A very important priority is to ensure that we work with you to help your child to flourish! We are very approachable and always happy to talk so if you have any questions or concerns then please get in touch! We will be advising on ways in which you can help your child over the course of the year.
